About Me
I was born on the Isle of Man which is a tiny independent island in the middle of the Irish Sea, equidistant between England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. I grew up in my parents’ hotel located in the capital Douglas, and earlier in Onchan, a close suburb where it was expected that my siblings and I would pitch in with the day to day running of the hotel during the opening season. This was definitely good training for me!
I came to Canada in 1981, was a stay at home mum for many years, and later rediscovered my love for all things vintage and pretty including fine china, beautiful linens, polished silverware, and of course tea parties!!
My style is a combination of Shabby Chic, French Country and Nordic. I use only vintage English fine bone china, vintage silverware and pure linen and cotton napkins and tablecloths (mostly vintage) with lots of draping. I frequently use vintage bed linens and fabrics in order to achieve the right look – a la Shabby Chic!! I do have a collection of beautiful vintage French Limoges porcelain which is available at my Parisienne tea parties or by request.
With Tealightful, I will share an authentic and fun experience with you and hope you will join me on this new journey!
Thank you!
